Hello,
I would like to upgrade my machine and am adding a hard disk to it.
Initially i had partitions C and D on my drive.
Now when i add the second hard disk it automatically takes the second hard disk to be the D drive and the earlier D drive to be drive E.
I would like to know if there is a way of making sure that the new hard disk is taken as the E drive.
This is because i have some programs stored on my earlier D drive and they are becoming inaccessible.
Please help

Please dont' double post.
Yor original is here: thread602-96186 Cheers,
Jim

i do not think there is a way to assign it maunallie, it is done automaticallie. i have had 3 hard drives wit 5 partitions in total, and even tho if you do put ur other hard drive on ur secondary slave, it would still be assigned mixed into da other partitions. i kno this from first hand and i do not THINK there is a way. people correct me if i am wrong, and also post the solution, i would like to know too.

Hi
You must leave a smmal sector of unformatted space (8Mb approx) before your first partition on the second drive.

Hi
You must leave a small sector of unformatted space (8Mb approx) before your first partition on the second drive and make the partitions logical and not active.
