Add/Remove Programs - picky about what it wants to remove

I'm trying to clean up a laptop from an old user so I can pass it on to a new user.

I'd really like to take a lot of the programs off that this user installed, but when I go into Add/Rem in the control panel, there is no "Remove/Repair" button on 90% of the programs listed! TweakUI didn't do it, and quite a few programs don't have their own uninstaller.

How on earth can I get rid of all this software without gutting, pillaging and reformatting?

TIA!

I've also seen this when programs have been deleted and not removed. Try using a reg cleaner as well if the above tip fails.
