Hi All.
I have a W2K server that is also my E2K server. The operating system and exchange are patched up to date. I need to remove a third party application and install a new version. Support for this application says the removal is to be done through the “Add/Remove Programs” in the control panel. Problem is that the “Add/Remove Programs” will not start up! Does anybody know how to activate this again? Can it be done in a command prompt?

Thanks for any ideas.

JAC

ARPWIZ.exe is what you are looking for.

It isn't a public download, you'll need to call Microsoft to get it.

It will repair the Add/Remove programs wizard.

Before you call, try START>RUN appwiz.cpl and see if that works. If the file isn't found, put your install CD in the CD tray and run SFC /scannow. That will put a new copy of it in the dllcache and in system32. If that doesn't work, then the problem is in the registry and you'll need ARPWIZ to fix it.

When you call MS, ask for Platform Performance Support and tell the engineer you need a copy of ARPWIZ.EXE to repair Add/Remove Programs.....

Thanks Sarg! I will let you know when it is up and running.

Sarg, You were right. It was a registry error. Thanks again!
