Having problems adding a printer to a Windows XP box that is part of Active Directory (W2K3/domain). When logged on as administrator and using the Add Printer Wizard, the radio button for Local Printer Attached to this Computer is
grayed out and not available. I have searched through my group policies and cannot find any reason for this. There are many other XP computers that do not act this way.

Any ideas?

What I really need to do is just add a local tcp/ip printer.

Run gpresult on the machine in question.
What can you see?
are you local admin or domain admin? Is there a domain secuirty policy in effect?

Elmurado - thanks for the advice. I ran the gpresult on the PC and found that the User Right to load and unload device drivers had been set for one particular user in the domain/OU and administrators did not have this right. Changed the rights and this solved the problem. In other words, I created this problem sometime back and it just now came back to bite.

Thanks again!!
