Add printer - "operation could not be completed"

I've got a Windows 2003 SBS server.
I am trying to install a Dyno printer via USB on the server, but when I click on ADD PRINTER it pops up "operation could not be completed".
When I open an existing printer and try to add another port, I get the same message. The print spooler service is running, I have rebooted, I have disconnected the printer and un-installed all the Dyno software with the same out come. If I try to install the printer through the supplied software it finished the software install but then generates the error when I proceeds to install the printer!

Any ideas?
