Add on module for a 6424

I have a secretary that had a 16 button add-on module that she would like to have installed. When I set the station option to Y for an expansion module, it gives me page 6, but it had 24 button assignments. I added a line on the first line for this, but it does not work on her module.

Do these modules need any type of alternate power supply? Is there something I need to do to make it work if it is only 16 lines, like program it beginning at line 9?

This is a G3, Memory Resident: R011i.02.0.110.4

The only add on module that I was aware of that worked with the 6416 and 6424 phones was the XM24 module (24 buttons). Those modules do need to be powered by an external power supply, like a 1151a1.
