Hi All,

A client of mine has a freshly installed W2K PC with network card, latest drivers, everything all setup. At the server end (using active directory) they have setup a username and account and so it's all ready to go.

Can anyone point me to a guide or instructions of how to setup the PC to connect to the server? The last time I tried this all I got a W2K login and it wouldn't accept anything just kept saying it couldn't find the system account on primary domain or the password as wrong (it wasn't - I know how to spell "a"!!!).

Any help please. LeBodge.

LeBodge,

At the risk of insulting your intelligence,(I assure you this is not the intent) You mentioned "Domain".

Is this a domain server you are trying to connect to? If so, check the strength of password required. It may be setup to require X amount of digits.

Another possibility would be the octet sets used for the IP addys. The first three sets would have to be the same (unless you are using a machine for IP forwarding) also the subnet mask would have to equal that of the server. Otherwise it would never see the server.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck

In order to log into the domain, your computer itself has to register to the domain first. To do this, go to Control Panel > System > Network Identification > Properties.

After a reboot, you should be able to login

I think you might need to add the pc to the domain. right click on the 'my computer' icon, click 'properties' then choose the 'network identification' tab. click on 'network ID' and follow the wizard. write back if you need more info.

Hope this helps.

Corie
