I just tested Y character again and it does work.
Not sure why you other losers cant get it to work.
I created a User SC for the fax extension.
1100 was the LD code and used direct trunk access.
Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

You US guys use old crappy analog trunks, LD codes, a 9 for an outside line and 911 for emergency at the same time.
Keep it simple like the rest of the world does

I would never (probably neither would OP) program a LD SC this way. I usually put it in for users that use One-X or twinning to a LD number, with a different dial SC prefix.
I did not have time to test, but I guess a user SC wouldn't work, I'd be inclined to think that on twinning it uses a system SC, and doesn't look up user SC; just a theory never tested. That would be easier to work with of course.
Me personally I like the NFL, boxing and some motor sports. Care-less about baseball-soccer-hockey. I would like to see Usain Bolt as a receiver in the NFL. The SC is for faxing
