Add a USB external hard drive to SBS2003 R2

I am trying to install a 500GB Maxtor One Touch External USB Hard Drive on a SBS2003 R2 server. XP doesn't see the drive. The drive works fine on a XP SP2 workstation.
Any ideas why??

It just occured to me that I'll bet that drive is formatted as Fat32 and not NTFS. Is it possble that SBS2003
doesn't deal with Fat32?

I forgot to mention that I didn't install the Maxtor software on the hard drive so it's clean and it works fine on a XP SP2 PC
