Currently I have an Exch 5.5 server and Exch 2003 server. We recently set up the 2003 server and migrated all of our users over onto it rather flawlessly. However, we still haven't removed the 5.5 server. There hasn't been any problems until just last week. When attempting to create a new user, the ADC(I'm assuming) fails to create an associated mailbox. If I look in active directory it has all of the Exchange related tabs in there. But for some reason when I look in the Exchange system manager there isn't any associated mailbox. I'm not quite sure what's going on. I haven't changed anything with my active directory connector and I've been able to create new users up until last week. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Matt

It does not accually creat the mail box until a message is sent to it.

Have you sent a message to the newly create user/mailbox??

Also there is a column you can set to see, under "user and computers" > users or where ever your users are located, call email addresses if set that to be display it will show all user who have an associated mail box whether it is showing under the storage location or not.

The ADC synchronizes the 5.5 directory with Windows 2000. The RUS stamps exchange attributes on users. The mailbox isn't instanced until:

1. The user logs on to it, or
2. A message is deliveredto the mailbox.

From what you described, this is normal.
