Good day all.

I am to the point of running my ADC tools to add a 2003 Exchange server to my duplicate test domain. I continue to get an LDAP -48 error. It says the following:

Could not connect to Server:389 with LDAP error -48. Check server name, port number, and account permissions.

I looked on my 5.5 server and LDAP is running on port 389. I am using a Domain admin account and I am now stunned as to why it cannot communicate. The Exchange server is on a windows 2000 server box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance...

I have a few questions: Which domain is the account your using from? Are the machines in different domains? Can you connect to port 389 on the 5.5 box from the command line of the 2003 box? Is the 5.5 box a domain controller?

Ok, Not sure how I would connect from the command line. Both servers are in the same domain. I have a windows 2k3 domain running AD (I think). I promoted my nt4 box to 2003 and rand through the AD wizard. Everything shows up in AD. I am trying to Add a 2k3 exchange server in coexistance. The 5.5 server is not a domain controller and I am not sure if I should try to upgrade it to 2003 and make a DC. Your thoughts?? I hope this is info you were looking for. If not please be more specific and I will try to answer.

Thanks
