Adaptec SCSI 2930 installs on W2K, but it also finds a new PCI device?

We installed an Adaptec 2930CU SCSI card (in the PCI slot) of a Windows 2000 server (HP tc2110). When it starts, Windows finds the new device and adds it automatically, but after a restart, it will also find a new PCI device and running through the Hardware Wizard will not find any suitable drivers for it. The only device we have in the PCI slots of this server is the SCSI card, so why does it install fine and then ask for drivers for the 'new' PCI device? I tried to use the Adaptec drivers for the new PCI device too, but it comes up with the yellow exclamation mark on the PCI device under Device Manager if I do that. Any help would be appreciated; this is being done to add a backup tape drive to the server. Thanks!

it will also find a new PCI device" - does it then still recognize the 2930?
if so just mark the new device as disabled and check if 2930 is working.

Maybe the new device is the tape drive and not the SCSI card. Try using the tape drive device driver.

I thought it might be the tape drive that it was having a problem with, but when we went through the reinstall, I left the tape drive disconnected to deal with one device at a time. So, we have the SCSI card attached, but nothing attached to it. I have not tried to just disable the Unknown PCI device; I can give that a try. Also have contacted HP to see if 2930's are supported in their servers - nothing back from them yet... more to come.

Is the model of your server does not come with built in SCSI controller? And this controller is appearing to be unknown device.

Or. Just download the latest driver for Adaptec 2930CU SCSI card (win2k) and update the driver. Also update to the latest SP.
