Hi,

Our Active Directory (W2K domain) requires a complete rebuild from scratch (we have worked through all the alternatives).

We have 4 DC's, one of which is our Exchange 2000 server.

Can someone offer some advice with regards to options?

How can I back up the user & machines in my AD - reinstall every DC - and re-import the users & machines?

At this point, can I restore an Exchange backup & expect it to work? (assuming all the server names are the same & the domain name is the same)

Advice?

Thanks

Paul

Bring a new Exchange server online into existing org. Move mailboxes, rehome PFs, change bridgehead, sort SMTP connectors, shut down old Exchange for 2 days. Bring it up, uninstall Exchange, dcpromo the DC. Reformat, reload if applicable.

DCpromo each DC in turn, reformat, reload, dcpromo.
