I just went through an upgrade from an NT4 PDC to a new Win 2k Server AD. I rebuilt the AD from scratch and manually added all the users and groups.

My problem is when I start up the client machines (xp pro, 2k pro), they are not part of the new domain yet. When I go into network settings and remove from domain and then add back again, they get a new "desktop".

How can that be avoided?

Assuming the profiles are local really the only thing you can do is copy the settings over. How to copy them over gives a variety of answers but none are really easy when dealing with a large enviroment.

Thanks for the help.
