ActiveX component that reads local file

How can i design an activex component such that when deployed on my web page, it is able to read a local file from clients machine as soon as he/she click on a button. pls any suggestions

I'll assume you mean read a text file, and that you know how to do that. Create an ActiveX Dll project that does what you need. Read up on the HTML Object tag. After trying it yourself, if you have more detailed questions, ask them.
