Activesync over Internet?

So I see in the activesyn connection settings that I can connect to activesync through a network connection.

I want to be able to sync my Axim x3i to my computer from my wireless network and also from various hotspots. Has anyone done this.

It says something of remote access server, is this IIS? Or some exchange platform?
