Active X Problem

Hi,

I was trying to create a lookup field earlier and got a message that said "Active X Can't create object for Lookup"
I appreciate the help on this.

Just a guess, but open the VBA editor (ALT+F11), and check 'Tools, References' to see if there are any broken references.

If not, refresh references anyhow. Make a note of all the checked references, then uncheck one, close the dialog, try and compile (it may fail), then go back and recheck the reference (it will have scooted back down the list so you'll have to hunt for it). Do them all.

If that fails, then I don't have a clue. Search Google Groups to see if anyone else anywhere has ever had the same problem.

It may not be ActiveX related at all. Post the DLookUp code you used and give us a little more detail about what you are doing.

This is very basic. I'm just trying to create a lookup field for a field in table A that looks in Table B

Sorry, my mistake. I read it as DLookup. Have you tried using the Lookup Wizard.

I just tried it again using the wizard. I get somewhere in the middle where it asks me which fields I want to use and after selecting I hit next and get "Active X can't create object"
