I recently re-installed Windows 2000 on a computer in my office and now the "Active Title Bar" color settings do not seem to work properly.

On all other computers in my office when you go to the Display Properties > Appearance > Active Title Bar, you are given the option of choosing two colors to form a gradient, However on this one particular system the "Color 2" option is greyed out and I can not choose a color.

I read some information that suggested that you can not use this option in 256 color mode, however that is not my problem becuase I am using True Color (32 Bit)

Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

This is a report from my Intel raphics Properties, if it helps at all:

I have the same problem.
Let me know if you have found a solution

Start Reged32 and look at the value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Colors
Key for Color #1: ActiveTitle RRR GGG BBB
Key for Color #2: GradientActiveTitle RRR GGG BBB

RRR/GGG/BBB = Red/Green/Blue values

Yes, I'm aware of the properties. These do have values in my registry but they are not displayed and the button is disabled in the cpl as I indicated.

Try resetting to 256 color mode. Reboot. Then reset to your desired color depth. Reboot. Then report back as to whether color 2 is now available to be set.

no didn't work.

in my windows\system32
the property sheet handler for this control I believe is
themesui.dll

Mine is 385536 bytes 2/28/06 vers 6.0.2900.2180
I can't imagine that is not the typical but I don't know where else to search now. I can't seem to locate any entries that may make a difference (using regmon).
