Active Sync & Off-line files

I am using Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1 on a laptop that uses offline files.

Because this version uses TCP/IP to communicate with my mobile device (using a USB cable), an extra LAN connection appears when connected.

This seems to cause my laptop to go 'Off-line', even though it's still connected to the network.

I have tried moving the order of access for this network connection to the bottom of the list, but it still happens.

Has any one else come accross this issue?
