What is the exact error message you are receiving and at what stage in the DCPROMO do you receive it?
Are your servers on the same IP subnet?
Have you checked your NIC's?

Usually that error relates to a DNS issue if the new servers are going to be set up as DNS as well, try a default gateway pointing to the main server. If they are using the main dns server, make sure they are setup to use that server as the dns server.
