Active Directory Backup

We have ARCServe 9.0 and i have one question, is posible to make an Active Directory's Backup?

all of domains controller have a directory named SYSVOL, could be this directory?

do i need a special agent to do it?

Backup the system state on your DC - this holds AD info necessary in the case of a restore. If you have ARCserve on your host server then a local backup is fine. If you're backing up remotely, then you'll need a client agent.
