OK my buddy wants to set up a Active directory system in his home. WHY I ahve no idea.

Currently he has a DSL Connection on a Cisco 678. That connection is going into a Linksys SOHO router/firewall device. With all the compuetr connected off of the SOHO device.

_____ _______ ________ _____ _____
|678| |SOHO |-----|Server| |Ws1| |Ws2|
| |---| | ________ |-_-_____ _____
_____ _______----------------| |
|-------------------------------|

Now the SOHO handles the DHCP and DNS. To get AD (wich likes to own the dns) on this setup will I

A) Have to hardwire the IP and DNS information into the computers so it will ahve the server in the dns list.

Buy another nic card for the server?
or what?? Any suggestions?

No, one NIC is fine.

Turn of DNS and DHCP at the linksys at let win2k manage them for you. Have DHCP tell the client machines there gateway is the linksys device.
