Active Desktop automatic refresh?!

Hi guys,

We want to put our intranet's start-page on everyone's Active Desktop. Works fine BUT, the information displayed on the Active Desktop is only updated when I refresh it manually or logout/in.

Is this something I can force from the web-server or the desktop pc? I want all the user's Active Desktops to get updated directly when we change information on the intranet.

Is this possible?

This text is from a web site I found, unfortunately it doesn't tell anything about how and what command to implement in the web page. - Any clues ???

You can use the meta tags to do a refresh of the browser page...

example:
<meta http-equiv=&quot;Refresh&quot; content=&quot;10; url=New-page.html&quot;>

After content you add the seconds of delay before refresh. The interval can be 0 seconds. This will cause the browser to load the data from the supplied URL as soon as it can.

Make sure you use a fully qualified url.

Another thought...

Setting the refresh interval to say 1 or 5 mins on all the clients will generate quite a lot of &quot;unneccessary&quot; activity on the network and webserver in a large organization.

If I would use meta-tags like you are mentioning, would it update the client only when something changes on the web-server? ..or is this something that is impossible to achieve?

The meta-tag is on the web page itself.
It would affect all users.
