ACS Exam question 1

Does anyone know if the current ACS exam in based on 4.2 or 5.0 I keep finding conflicting info

If its not broke tweak it..

TLDuk, I would save yourself some time,money and annoyance by not doing any ACA/ACS exams as it is getting dropped at the end of this year for a new certification called ACSS :)

apparently its all changing soon. What does it says on ?

TBH Just learn 5.0 it's 4.2 with some added extras. if you are planning on taking an acs then there won't be much to catch you out, you will know the differences between the firmware anyway.

See what my brain does when it's not thinking about phones.

I,m going to do the ACS anyway but i looks like the ACS will become a ACSS when the changes come into affect

I would confirm that, if it doesn't it is only a couple of months wait to guarentee you have the most current certification. I have ACS and I have not heard it get's carried over, I haven't heard the other way either mind :)

From the docs:

?? Q: Are the ACA, ACS and ACE logos going away? A: Current certification logos (ACA, ACS, and ACE) may be used until your credential expires. The ACS for Implement and Support will become ACSS and the current ACE will be replaced by ACSE. New logos will be available to support the credentials when they are launched.

They are NEW but under review. You should logon to avaya-learning.com and look at the faq

from reading the doc, i would say no.

The ACS will still be last as long as it normally would, but it seems the current and new exams are based on totally different material, so i would assume the ACS doesnt just become an ACSS

Well I am keeping my ACE through ACA certs hanging on the wall. I will simply put the new certs next to the originals. The docs say that certification should be easier to acquire and that study time should be less but I'll believe it when I study less to acquire it.

go for 4.2, the web based training for 5 has not been released yet.

What me surprised is that to become ACSS next year you do not need the COMPTIA Convergence+ or CTP2007 any more.

it is like the "no child left behind" policy, you lower your standards until you have even the dumbest one pass it :)
sounds like a good idea for some but not for others.
