Hi,
I downloaded and installed the acrobat reader 6.0 version on my XP-professional. But acrobar reader is not starting . It is getting stucked. I am not able to open acrobat reader.
I removed all the instances of the adobe acrobat. I reboot the system.I tried to download from the acrobat website. Before downloading I got the warning message
"This type of file could harm your computer if it contains malicious code.
filename: adberdr60_DLM_ene_full.exe
I just had a call from one of our admin people saying she couldnt open a pdf file from an email and when I had a look at it what had happend was that the license agreement window from adobe hadn't come to the front and it didn't show up on the taskbar had to alt tab to it say yes to the agreement and it started acrobat and the file she had try to open.
So it seemed like the reader wasn't working but I take it your problem isn't as easy as this.
I just had a look on adobe's ftp and don't think you downloaded the right file.
Look here
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/6.x/6.0/enu/
and download either AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe or AdbeRdr60_distrib_enu.exe
