Hi,
Just a quick question regarding ACL's on catalsyt switches....

I need to create an access list for SNMP NTP and Telnet from restricted hosts... do they need to be in specific ACL list numbers or can i simply have access list 1 SNMP, access list 2 NTP etc

Many thanks
Matt Jenkins

Create separate acl's and then just use the "remark" line in the acl's to describe what they are used for . Or you can use named acl's and call them anything you want .
access-list 2 remark SNMP RO ACCESS

Thanks for that... but the numbering of the acls doesnt matter eg they could be 1, 4 and 8???

Regards
Matt

1 thru 99 would be used for standard access lists and extended access lists usually start with 100.
