I would like to use the disabled USB port on an Acer Extensa 390 laptop. I have read that these were originally shipped with the USB port disabled to conserve system resources and that it has to be enabled through the BIOS. I can see no option there for this. Ideas? Thanks.

I suggest that you go to the BIOS, and look under every topic there and sub-topic if there is one, and find it.

I managed to get into the BIOS which by the way is F2 and not Ctrl-Alt-Esc as the literature says, and enable the USB port. Now I get a message when Windows is booting saying "An error has occurred in your program. To keep working anyway, click Ignore and.........." I have gone back to the BIOS and disabled the USB port the same way, but am still getting that message.
