We have Higher Ground call recorders that get data from the CMS (I think). This is different than the CDR feed to the recorder from the PBX. That works OK. We had two feeds to two different recorders and they both died withing 5 minutes of each other and never revocered. I do not know where to look for them.

I tessted and the recorder is listening on port 6996 so it is not th enetwork or anything physical layer or at layers 2 or 3.

I am just hopping someone can point me in the right direction to look for where this configured on the CMS.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a RTA feed. In /export/home/pserv there should be a directory for the rta feed (not sure which one Higher Ground uses). In the rta directory should be the "Log" file. You can look there. You should also find a startrta. Netstat -a | grep 6996 will show you if the rta feed socket is connected. Since both stopped I assume you have CMS in a High Availability config. The RTA client on the higher ground is more likely the issue and may require a restart of the service. I would assume there is also a RTA menu on the CMS term. You may need to login as 'cms' to see it.
