Hi. I am having a weird problem.
Account userIDs keep on getting locked by itself. The weird thing is that the computer is switched off and in the Audit Log, I can see that a domain server seems to be continually accessing this switched off computer.
Since I have set the security policy to lock the user account after 3 incorrect login attempts, this would naturally cause the user's account to be locked.
I have checked the event viewer and I have found this
Logon Failure:
Reason: Account locked out
User Name: de405
Domain: NPT
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: KSecDD
Authentication Package: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Workstation Name: \\NEILCHAPPLE
The workstation name remains the same throughout and it is my Win2k server. Is it possible for this Win2k server to continuously try to attempt to login to a switched off computer?
Please help. Thanks!
