Is it possible to make an email account that can only send and/or receive internal mail only? We have a few temps that we are trying to make sure they only use their mail for internal sending and receiving and no personal use.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but this didn't work, I couldn't receive mail with no smtp address. I also couldn't set up the client without specifying an smtp address in the outlook client window.

OK, go to Connections, IMS, Delivery Restrictions, Reject Messages from and select your user.

Thanks, this half worked in that they can't send messages externally. This should be enough for our purposes, but if you know of a way to keep external messages from being received by this account, that would be perfect.

You can modify the Delivery Restrictions to where it only accepts messages from your GAL or a list of people.

DestinysDream, thanks, that worked as well, the only problems being people sending mail do not receive notice that their mail wasn't received, and you'd have to regularly update the list as new people come and go.

like i said, remove smtp from the mailbox. i'm not sure what you mean about the client setup problems, you should only have to specify the mailbox and home server in the client setup to make it work. smtp address is not necessary for internal email to work on Exchange and it prevents people from receiving external mail.

I set this up in our school some time back. Check out thread10-549234 where I got help. It works fine for our needs.

n0ktar: I think the problem was that I was setting them up as pop3 instead of exchange.
