We have a real simple domain, only the main domain default policy exists. We set the security policies so that the users needed to use strong passwords, expire, no duplicate passwords, password length, etc. This worked fine.
Then due to some unforseen problems with some existing background IT jobs this created a problem so we went back in and disabled all the account security we had enabled except for password length at least 8 characters.
It looks fine but users passwords are still expiring and the rules still seem to be in effect.
What obviouosly key step did I miss ??
