I need help on the following.

I have an account that keeps locking out on me. I unlock the account and then it is locked in approx 15 sec.

Is there a way to see who/what is using a particulair account on the network.

Are there external tools that do these things ?

If you've changed your password while you have another machine currently logged on with the same userid but the old password, the account will continue to lock out until all machines using the same userid are logged out.

Protheus,

Make sure you do not have any automated processes that are name and passcode dependant. In my case, I had an archiving process that ran every fifteen minutes, but when setting up, it asked me for user name and passcode, so I used mine. But a month later I had to change my usr name and passcode for security reasons, but the archive was still using the old logon and kept locking up every 15 minuts.

What the other two posters said. In addition to what bcastner stated, I recently had a user who did not correctly log out of a citrix session, (runnning for like 3 months!), later changed his password and then his account would lock in seconds everytime he tried logging into citrix.

lamasu,

That certainly would do it, and I thank you for the comment as Scheduled Tasks running under older user credentials could certainly create this problem.

I have searched this forum all day long and eventualy thought about the RDC - as someone was working on my account adn was logged on with RDC to a server and I changed he password.

This was confusing the server and each 15 sec it locked my account when I unlocked it. Weird thoigh as I reset the account o the exact same password and that did not solve the problme.

So after a whole day of seacrhing the solution was the disconnecting of a RDC connection :-)

Tnx all

You had an RDC connection and changed the password, and then the non-RDC username and password would not work.

This is perfectly believable under the advice given earlier.

Glad you go it sorted as an issue.
