Accessing Solaris 9 using eXceed 1

Does anyone know how to source the .profile for a user connecting to Solaris 9 using eXceed or any other X-Windows application. It seems that all my env variables are lost when I connect via eXceed. But when I connect on the Solaris box, all is fine. I am new to Solaris so any help would be great.
