I used to be able to access an older NAM using a null modem cable. Since our company upgraded our laptops to Windows 2000, I can't get the direct connect to a NAM to work. Can anyone give me some help on how to resolve this? I know I could use a crossed over cable, if the voicemail has a NIC installed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

I just got through this very situation.
Go read the thread titled:

"NAM 4.0 and Voice Mail Manager"

all you need to know is there.

There is one technical problem with windows2000 and XP having very poor DOS support especially concering RS232 port addressing. Try using Hyperterm but your generic 9pin to 9pin crossover cable is not enough. Nortel documents clearly define what's needed. If you need the schematic, just ask.
