I thought I was through asking questions on access, but never mind :)

We have a database in the new business area of the company, we are sitting here trying to figure out what has went wrong, but then we realised we cant.

The following message is coming up and we suspect is locked by permissions that we cant access.

Can anyone help us to open the database? We need to get todays call logs for the department if nothing else.

The message coming up is:

You do not have the necessary permissions to use the <name> object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you. (Error 3033)

Of course the problem is the system administrator who created the database no longer works for us, and there is no documentation for the database.

We have went live on a new system so we can ditch this database anyway, but we still need to access the call log table for tomorrow's staff coming in at 9am.

Any help appreciated.

We need to get todays call logs
How are they stored in the DB if you don't have permission ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

There is a small front end access application that user type in the calls to, which connects to the main database on a network share, the main database is called SD_II

It stopped working earlier this afternoon (UK TIME), the user were trying to enter calls but it gave them the same message as above.

So we are trying to figure out how to get in and fix it, or at least establish what has went wrong.

It seems the database is fine, its the permissions file that has gone wrong, we cant find a workgroup file for the database and there is no shortcut to a secured.mdb file.

We are all a bit confused, none of us know access that much to try and fix this.

We may just have to write off what has been done so far if we cant get in.

to the main database on a network share
No change on the network share permissions ?

No there is no change to the network share permissions, we are now looking at buying a tool to effectively break back in to our own database ?!
