When a client on a local network try to access the local web server with Internet explorer he is first promptet to make a dial out with the modem. When the modem connects he can access the web server on the local network.

How do i prevent the dial out ?

Thanks

Assuming Local Web Server means on a Lsn and not PWS.
Get to IE properties, Connections and see if it has Always Dial/Never Dial etc. Try setting to Never Dial. On Win 2000 Pro I have a "backup" Dial Up (DUN) in case the LAN goes down. I had to define it as an external network computer, not an IE connection. When it was IE connection, I had to delete it to make IE go to the LAN.
