We have a small LAN, win2000.
On a client in that lan I have apache web server.
the outside world can see me fine when I dialup from my client machine.
When I do NOT dialup, but use the LAN connection to the world my web server cannot be seen. No one can see my pages.
The traffic, I'm told, needs to be forwarded from the LAN server or router or wherever it's stopping to my machine with it's local lan IP number (i.e. 192.168.0.3). This needs to be done by the sysop, the lan manager, whatever.
Unfortunately that's not me. That's a Chinese gentleman with no English (we're in mainland china) and without a lot of experience. It's very difficult to even make him understand the problem before we get to looking for an answer.
So it would be very good if someone could educate me and outline the steps required to forward traffic from outside to a particular client within a Lan.
