Hello,

We are having issues trying to access our Exchange server that sits behind a PIX. We are using Outlook client and selecting the Exchange protocol (MAPI), not POP or IMAP. We are getting timeouts trying to connect. Mailguard is OFF, so it's not that known issue.

Is there a specific way to get this to work?

OK, are you really planning to run RPC based MAPI traffic through your firewall ? What is the business need for MAPI ?

We are testing various mail apps. We have set up a separate test segment with numerous Exchange servers and need to connect as Exchange/AD users to test. Unfortunately, this segment is behind the corp FW.

Well you need to open a bunch of ports to get outlook to work. I dont recommend this option at all. Though if you want outlook to connect to the exchange server i suggest you try RPC over https. In that scenario you use https to tunnel the rpc commands. You need e2003 and office2003 for this
