My wife's office has a Cisco 800 series router, which has been switched on but not in use ever since they replaced their ISDN with ADSL in February.
Their telco has advised them that in late January there was a dual-channel ISDN call made which lasted over fifteen days - and has cost over £1000. The telco says that this is not a fault at their end, but possibly a fault at the router which has not 'hung up' properly.
Does the 800 series have activity logs that may be of use to verify if the problem is at the router or the telco? If we can prove that the router hung up normally but the telco held on to the connection, they may not have to pay for this aberrant call.
If such logs exist, how would I access/download them from the router?
Thanks a lot - James

If you've got Cisco Fast Step installed on a PC you could run Monitor and click on the Line Usage icon. You could also telnet into the router and use the "show isdn history" command

Thanks - in order to telnet to the router, I just need the IP address right? and what is the syntax for the command, or where would I find a command reference? Apologies for my n00bness, I'm a Java architect not a hardware guy :)

Use hyperterminal and start a "File > New connection" One of the options is "Connect Using" > select TCP/IP & the option to enter the routers IP address becomes available (as well as the port number - but I've never changed this).

I've just done this and issued the "show isdn history" command and I don't think it'll give you the info you need.

There may be some place to find what your looking for - but I don't see it right now.

I run the Fast Step Monitor all the time and can see this information from there.

Regards - Phil.
