We just set up a trust between two domains across a VPN link, and I wanted to enable the users there to be able to access all of the corporate resources through the dfsroot of our corporation.

I have two problems:
1)they users in the Trusted Domain can't access the dfsroot through Netbios names (i.e. \\DOMAINNAME\DFS_NAME) but can access it through FQDN (i.e. \\DOMMAINNAME.COM\DFS_NAME).

2) When the do access it through the FQDN, the can navigate through the structure, but when it comes time to route to the target... it shows no files.

I suspect the problem is that I have to have a way for the computers to resolve netbios names for the remote domain. How would I accomplish this?

Anyone got any ideas?

To resolve the NetBIOS names... WINS could do this, or entries in an LMHOSTS file, if the IP's are static.
