In testing a project, I know that I can take an Access table and insert the data into an MSWORD table....but can I take an MSWORD table and export it to an Access table?? I realize I would have to create fields in MSWORD to match the fields in Access....but is this even possible to do??

Yes, it's possible if you save the file as a text file in Word. Then you can import the text file into Access. It works great! I use it all of the time.

Thank You Triggerfish!! I'm working on a program for a benefit auction that will use MSWORD & ACCESS and your post was very helpful. One more question, do I have to take all the fields, or can I be selective? My MSWORD document will contain Item#, Short Description, Long Description, & Category #. I do not want to import the Long Description, can I do this?? This will help me decide how to design the Access Database.

I believe with the text import you can skip certain fields. You can also do this with an Excel import. If the capability is there it will be an option on one of the import screens.
