Access to SQL Server 7.0 Hyperlink Conversion Question

I have nearly complete converting our backend database to SQL Server 7.0 from Access 2000. Everything has gone smoothly except for the hyperlink data type conversion. SQL Server does not support this data type and changes it to ntext which makes both the text invalid as a true path and does not support the jump capability at all. I am still using Access 2000 for the front end forms.

The users are used to being able to use the typical windows file & hyperlink browse functionality to enter the path for the link. I would really like to keep this capability (or something similar) if at all possible and not ask them to type in the entire string.

Has anyone found a solution for this? One possiblity I was considering is to keep a hyperlinks table in Access and have all my other tables in SQL Server as linked tables through Access, but that seems sort of lame.

This is so frustrating... Thanks in advance!
