I have tried several backup accounts all with unique mailbox names, such as xbackup, veritas, execbackup e.t.c.

all have Full Exchange Admin rights via the Delegate Control Wizard, and can easily access all mailboxes, even logon to the server and open mailboxes, even open and browse the Sys Admin.

I have tried each one as the default logon acount for Backup Exec and the Services.

But every single time, regardless, if i try to conenct to Exchange Mailboxes as one of them they get an access Denied error from Backup Exec.

Help

THe mailboxes must be visible in the Global Address list

they are.

seemed to work after a ridiculous elevation of permissions, even went as far as adding maximum permissions to the DC involved in AD under security.

and changing the default logon account for Backup Exec from the Domain Admin account to the account trying to backup Exchange.

Tried using a different account for running Exchange so that i could use the same account that runs Exchange to try and back it up as well. but thier Exchange server Information Store wouldn't run under any account other than Local System.
