Access Security - how do I gret rid of it - Locked out by Access 2000

I have a number of access97 databases on a network server. I enabled Access Security for one of the databases because it has some sensitive data, but other data that all users need. I have a system.mdw file that I have to have the users (runtime access) join in order to give them access to the secured database. How can I tell a database NOT to use any security? This hasnt been a big problem up to now. I could just use a pc on the network that doesnt join the system.mdw file and logon, that pc can access the unsecured databases and import/export data. Unfortunately, I am experimenting with Access 2000 and when I try to access my unsecured mdw files with 2000, I get an error saying I have to have a security account and it wont let me in, even read only.

In my opinion Access security is more of a hindrance than a help. In order to bypass security you are going to have to go to the workgroup security wizard. You can find it at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\1033\WRKGADM file. When you click on the file you'll see a wizard that shows the current system.mdw file that you are using. You then have the option of creating new system.mdw file or joining an existing system.mdw. I'd suggest you create a new system.mdw with no security and then join it afterwards. Then you should be ok.

that was about the only thing I could come up with, but i had hoped to avoid having to join and re-join and all that stuff. I wonder if there's any vb code to automatically join an access user to an mdw file?
