My company uses Intuit Master Builder 2004. I haven't seen a forum for Master Builder here, but I thought I would start ion this one.

Master Builder does not have a good way to alert me to when a customer's service maintenence agreement is due, basically we have to go through our records every month and see what customers are due for service per an agreement. I found the files that store all the various information that Master Builder refers to, they are flat tab deliminated files. I'd like to create a simple Access database that can import the data from the flat file, all the customer info and tell us when we need to schedule their next maintenance. Does this sound realistic?

Any info or reference would be helpful, thanks!

This can probably be done internally with a Report, or better, a Query which would permit direct access to the client record for updating.

Wow, almost a year later I get a response. In Master Builder, we can create a report or query to show which customers should get their maintenance. That works only if the record has been setup with some sort of flag.

You just got lucky, I guess - no MB group on this site.
Next Bill Date or Contract End Date seem like nice flags.

Or company does maintenance for customers either 4, 3, 2, 1 times a year or every other year. There is no end to their contract, and a 30 day billing flag would not flag down customers that are due for maintenance. I think I might not have been clear enough about the original request.

Why is there no MB forum here? You'd think with the good handful of short comings the program has, there would be more users looking for solutions. Maybe it isn't very much used out there.

I think there is an MB user forum on Yahoo Groups, but not much activity.

Since your contracts don't expire, I think I would use that date field to track my next schedule date, but it would have to be updated manually each time an appoint is scheduled.
