Hello, I am trying to get a command button to show the underline by placing an ampersand before the letter. It shows at design time but will only show after I press the <ALT> key at run time. My users will not know that the access key is avalible if the line is not there. They will not remember if I say press the <ALT> key to get the lines.
Any ideas?
Thanks

[Mad]You have to love Microsoft.

This little feature is under your display settings. Go to the control panel>>display>>Appearance Tab>>Effects Button. Once there, clear the check mark in the "Hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key". Click OK until your back at your desktop and it should work.

Thanks that was so intuitive, it must be something Microsoft came up with.

It is a new feature in XP. They decided that hiding the underscores would make it easier to read. I never had a problem with it, but for someone that has poor eyesight, I could see the advantage.

also, if you use narrator (xp's text reading app) it will say underline F ile if you "read" the menus.
hide the underscore, and it will say FILE.

not sure how speech recognizer will act.

if it is to be it's up to me
