First of a few questions to come....!

Does anyone have any experience of the following....

I have an access database that links to some SQL tables via SQL server. We have 2 remote offices on ADSL usinf sonicwall VPN...currently we use Remote desktop to use the database over the WAN....would there be much of a speed loss (or increase) if I deployed the front end on the local machine and linked the sql tables over the network as opposed to using RDP???

The biggest thing I've noticed since I've employed both methods simultaneously in the past is how quickly you get the data..

With RDP you see it right away, CTRL+End takes you to the end of it, the last row, almost immediately..

Access on the other hand waits for all the data to be retrieved and then shows you the data.

Also there is the fact that Access doesn't like to show more than 10k records for a table while SQL Server will show you all of them in the table.

As matter of fact the only three parts I like about Access is

. Immediate sorting rather by right clicking on col name
rather than writing monotonous queries.
. Someone can have access to it without getting access
to all my code.
. Quicker to get to.
