Hi there,

I have a PC that is not connected to a network. I am logged in as the local administrator and I am getting "Access Denied" when I try to stop the print spooler. Under services the start, stop, pause & restart buttons are greyed out. The "Log On As" field is blank. Any ideas how I can gain access to this service?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Check the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\restrictanonymous

If the value is "2" change it to "1".

Reboot the computer.

It doesn't seem to have made any difference. It was set to 0. I tried setting it to 1 but no change.
