Hi,

This problem is on Win 2003 but figured that windows 2000 experts may know something about it so thats why I posted it here:

Upgraded an NT4 PDC to Windows 2003 DC. Gone into event viewer, but can't look at any logs accept the security logs. I get Access Denied for all the others. I am logged on as an administrator. Anyone know whats going on??> Brand new win 2003 install.

Mike

I have the exact same problem. I am going to MS later today as I cannot find an answer. I will share the resolution with you.

hi, I am the guy that posted the original Question, but I had to change my handle.

I resolved the issue quite a while ago. It is something to do with group membership. You need to be in the top admin group (cant remember what it is called) to see event viewer properly. Try creating a new admin account and adding it to the most importadnt admin groups,

Mike

I fixed is as well. It was because my admin account was part of a guest group.
