Access DB Security

Hi,

I have been trawling the net for something that can help me as I'm a complete noob on this subject.

I want to limit the access to a Database to allow, read only, design changes only, and admin status for instance.

I used the built in security for it and it seemed to work fine on the single machine.

I put the Database on a network share, and that is when i realised that the security seemed to be specific to that particular Access install?

Anyone got any good dummies guides to Security for access web sites or anything as I'm failing spectacularly at the present time
